Labor offices deregistered 26,916 job applicants last month. Sixty-two percent of them found a permanent job. BRATISLAVA, December 20, (WEBNOVINY) – The Central Office of Labor, Social Affairs and Family reported a 0.04-percentage point monthly increase in the registered jobless rate in November, taking it to 13.33 percent. The number of jobseekers able to take up a job immediately reached 355,655 in the observed period, coming up by 1,012 from October. Trenkwalder employment agency projects that the registered unemployment rate might climb above 14 percent next year and break long-term records given the anticipated economic stagnation and looming recession.

Labor offices deregistered 26,916 job applicants last month. Sixty-two percent of them found a permanent job. There was a slight increase in the portion of deregistered jobseekers that received remuneration for work done while enrolled at the office higher than the law on employment-related services allows. These individuals work as contract agents and their number is growing constantly.

Behind the outflow of jobseekers is the fact that people picked jobs in the sector of commerce and services that saw new shopping centers and outlets open. Jobs were created in the automotive sector by Peugeot, KIA and Volkswagen. Staff was recruited for new investors and new operations, e.g., the industrial park in Komarno – the company Motivating Graphics.

Active labor market policy, e.g., contributions for business and flood prevention works, helped create some temporary jobs too. The Central Office of Labor, Social Affairs and Family plans to launch several employment projects intended to create or preserve more than 14,000 jobs next year.

29,913 jobless people were newly registered at labor offices in November, individuals that have never worked before remain the biggest group (226,122) among the jobseekers.
