Slovenske Elektrarne informed in mid-April 2019 that a hydro test which lasted longer than originally expected along with delayed construction works caused a delay in Mochovce project.

Top Austrian politicians are convinced that their steps led to a delay in the completion of the third and fourth nuclear unit in Mochovce. “I welcome Slovakia’s decision to postpone the launch of new nuclear units. This is the first step towards a good direction. We will not lessen our efforts unless all our safety concerns clear up!“ Austrian chancellor Sebastian Kurz wrote on the social network on Tuesday. “This is an important partial victory against Mochovce nuclear units! Their launch has been postponed. We continue fighting against nuclear energy,“ Austrian Minister for Sustainability and Tourism Elisabeth Kostinger wrote on her social profile. Slovenske Elektrarne, which completes nuclear units in Mochovce, informed in mid-April 2019 that a hydro test which lasted longer than originally expected as well as delayed construction works caused a delay in the completion of the third nuclear unit.
