The company JESS, which is preparing the project of a new nuclear power plant in Jaslovske Bohunice, considers compensation requirements presented by mayors of surrounding villages premature at this stage of the project.

In case of the construction of the new nuclear power plant in Jaslovske Bohunice, mayors of nearby villages will seek compensation for their residents. According to the mayor of Jaslovske Bohunice, Bozena Krajcovicova, residents could be offered lower electricity prices which would be agreed between an investor and a distributor before launching the operation, she announced at the public hearing of the report on the evaluation of the environmental impact of the new nuclear power plant on Velke Kostolany. Her colleague from Dolny Lopasov, Jozef Petusik, added that municipalities have never objected to the construction of any nuclear power plant. People only want to know what they will be offered in return.
