Slovakia remains a nuclear power in terms of electricity generation. Last year, four functional nuclear power units in Jaslovske Bohunice and Mochovce accounted for 53% of the Slovakia’s energy mix. According to the information provided by the short-term electricity market organizer, OKTE, the total electricity volume generated last year amounted to almost 28 TWh. Slovakia also relies on the production of electricity from the renewables (RES) which accounted for 22% of the country’s energy mix. Hydropower plants had the third largest share (15%), followed by biomass (4%) and solar power plants (2%).
