Last year, some companies charged higher prices for heat and water supply than approved the regulator.

Heating and water companies must pay back 168,000 euros to their customers for the last year. The Regulatory Office for Network Industries (URSO) stated that some companies had charged more for heat and water supply than approved by the regulator. „The Office ordered regulated entities to pay back the money to their consumers and settle a difference between the paid price and the price that was supposed to be paid under valid legislation,“ a spokesman for the regulator Radoslav Igaz informed the portal vEnergetike.sk. Last year, the regulator carried out 100 inspections among regulated entities. Of these, 39 inspections were carried out in companies in power industry, 13 in gas industry, 41 in thermal energy industry, 8 in water supply and one in business with fuels and oil.
