Bratislava to Host Globsec Conference in March

BRATISLAVA, February 9, (WEBNOVINY) – The Bratislava Security Forum Globsec will be held during the meeting of foreign ministers of Visegrad Group and the Eastern Partnership, which will be reflected in the selected topics and speakers. The sixth prestigious annual event will be held in Bratislava between March 2 and 4. It will focus on the Visegrad Group, which is commemorating the twentieth anniversary of its establishment this year. Moreover, its members Hungary and Poland are EU Presidents this year. Several foreign affairs ministers, representatives of the non-governmental sector, prominent journalists and representatives of the academia are to debate opportunities for the central European region in Bratislava. Hungarian Foreign Minister Janos Martonyi and his Czech counterpart Karl Schwarzenberg are expected to participate in the event, too.

This year’s Globsec conference will the biggest thus far. During three days, approximately seventy top speakers will deliver an address on the ground of seven debate panels, five informal evening discussions and seven theme dinners in Bratislava restaurants. Bratislava will become the center of foreign policy and security debate for the three days. The Slovak Atlantic Committee is organizing the event in cooperation with the European Commission Representation to Slovakia, the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NATO Public Diplomacy Division, informed the Foreign Ministry’s press department.
