BRATISLAVA, January 10, (WEBNOVINY) — The plan of Economy Minister Juraj Miskov (SaS) to establish a super-agency failed, that was supposed to take over activities of support for small and medium enterprise. The concept came in response a stalemate and lack of transparency in use of funds at the National Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises (NADSME). “The super-agency was, in my opinion, a very good idea. On the other hand, since in the case of NADSME we have partners – the Entrepreneurs Association of Slovakia and the Slovak Association of Tradesmen – their approval was necessary. [Our] partners did not agree with this idea. Thus, NADSME will be preserved in its original form,” minister Miskov admitted.

The minister highlighted that the agency was restructured to a certain extent. “We have managed certain restructuring at NADSME. We have removed an entire section of structural funds. The agency should deal exclusively with supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and no longer with implementation of EU funds,” he stated. An Agency for Implementation of EU Funds should be established under the jurisdiction of the Economy Ministry this year.
