New Cabinet Approves Nominations for Deputy Ministers

BRATISLAVA, April 11, (WEBNOVINY) — The Cabinet on Wednesday approved nominations for state secretaries at individual ministries. Ivan Secik became the state secretary at the Culture Ministry. He held this post also in the 2006-2010 election term when Marek Madaric headed the ministry for the first time. The Foreign Affairs Ministry will have two deputy ministers: Peter Burian and Peter Javorcik. Burian headed the Slovak mission to the United Nations from 2004. In 2008, he became Slovakia’s Ambassador the U.S.A. Until recently, Javorcik was deputy permanent representative of the Slovak Republic to the EU. Finance Minister Peter Kazimir will have two deputies, too, namely Peter Pellegrini and Vazil Hudak. Frantisek Palko and Andrej Holak will be state secretaries at the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development. Branislav Ondrus and Jozef Burian will hold the posts of state secretaries at the Labor Ministry. The Health Ministry’s state secretary will be Viliam Cislak, while Pavol Pavlis and Dusan Petrik have become state secretaries at the Economy Ministry.

Jozef Bucek and Marian Salon will substitute Interior Minister Robert Kalinak in his absence. Monika Jankovska has been appointed deputy justice minister. The state secretary at the Environment Ministry will be Jan Ilavsky, and Milos Koterec will serve on the post of state secretary at the Defense Ministry.

The Cabinet has not yet appointed state secretaries at the Education and Agriculture Ministries.
