New U.S. Ambassador Starts His Mission in Slovakia

BRATISLAVA, August 5, (WEBNOVINY) – Slovak Foreign Ministry’s State Secretary Milan Jezovica met with designated US Ambassador to Slovakia Theodore Sedgwick on Thursday. Sedgwick handed over copies of his credentials to the state secretary. Jezovica expressed belief that the arrival of the new ambassador will create conditions for a general development of friendly relations between Slovakia and the USA, according to the ministry’s statement. “Together with Ambassador Sedgwick, we agreed on the need of the countries to cooperate, in particular in the economic area, including the support of the transfer of high-tech from the US to Slovakia. Both representatives declared interest in continuing the cooperation in the fight against global security threats,” the Foreign Ministry said in the statement.

Theodore Sedgwick is a business executive with experience in launching and operating publishing and timber enterprises. He is the founder of Pasha Publications, a specialty publisher focused on energy, defense, and environment markets. He served as the company’s chief executive for twenty years, according to information published on the Internet website of the U.S. Embassy in Slovakia.
