BRATISLAVA, May 10, (WEBNOVINY) — Two patients with bullet wounds were admitted to hospital in Kosice Tuesday, informed spokeswoman of the hospital Jaroslava Oravcova. The shooting occurred on Tuesday morning near Kysak, in the Kosice area, during an undercover police operation by the Office for Fight Against Organized Crime. The police action was aimed at arresting a man suspected of carrying out a premeditated murder. The shooting occurred when the police SWAT team attempted to arrest the man; the suspect drew a gun and was shot. Already injured, he returned fire, wounding one of the police officers.

Slovak police received information about the planned crime earlier. A man from Switzerland allegedly wanted to die and be eaten by a cannibal. He was looking for someone to kill and eat him on the Internet. The man agreed to meet the suspect in Kysak. However, the Slovak police, who learned of the plan, swapped the Swiss man, who had changed his mind, with a police agent. Interior Minister Daniel Lipsic cancelled his Tuesday program and flew to eastern Slovakia together with Police Corps President Jaroslav Spisiak. He praised the wounded officer for risking his own life to protect the police agent. As he further informed, it is impossible to interrogate the suspect as both he and the police officer are seriously injured. The Special Prosecutor’s Office is in charge of the case; house searches and other police and investigative steps will follow. The suspect will be charged with premeditated murder and could face a lifetime in prison.
