Slovak PM Fico will Meet with Czech President in Prague

BRATISLAVA, April 19, (WEBNOVINY) — The first official foreign visit of recently appointed Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will traditionally take him to the Czech Republic. In Prague, he will meet with the two highest constitutional officials of the country – President Vaclav Klaus and Prime Minister Petr Necas. This information comes from the official schedule of the visit provided to the media by the press and information department of the Cabinet Office. Fico will travel to Prague on Friday for a one-day visit. „Discussions of the prime minister with representatives of the Czech Republic will cover possibilities for strengthening of mutual cooperation between the two countries in various areas, with emphasis on economic issues, energy security and further development of cooperation in all fields of electric energy projects,“ said Cabinet Office. Discussed during the visit will also be current issues on the European agenda, notably the treaty establishing the ESM, the treaty on stability, coordination and management of the economic and monetary union and cooperation of the Czech Republic and Slovakia in the regional Visegrad Group (V4).

After the official welcoming ceremony at the Government Office in Prague at about noon, the Slovak prime minister will have a working lunch with his Czech counterpart Petr Necas. After their joint press conference, Prime Minister Fico will move to the Prague Castle, where Czech President Vaclav Klaus will receive him.
