The agreement on cancellation of the consular fees is a part of process aimed at easing the entry to Slovakia for Ukrainian citizens while observing the existing Schengen rules.

According to the Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Mikulas Dzurinda, simplifying the visa regime is an important aspect in bilateral relations what he underscored during his recent visit to Uzhgorod. Moreover, a modification of the agreement between Slovakia and Ukraine on local frontier trade is being prepared also aimed at simplifying its terms.
