BRATISLAVA, April 24, (WEBNOVINY) — Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic plans talks with his yet to be elected Hungarian counterpart during the upcoming Visegrad Group presidential meeting and thus continue mutual dialogue. Presidential elections in Hungary will be held on May 2 while the sole candidate is Janos Ader. “Also the newly-elected president of Hungary will be invited,” presidential spokesman Marek Trubac said. Trubac specified that bilateral talks are planned and after Hungarian partners confirm them, the President Office will inform of them in advance. The Visegrad Group meeting at the presidential level takes place in the High Tatras on May 5-6.

Trubac added that if Janos Ader is elected, he will no longer be a candidate but president-elect who has not been inaugurated yet. Though it will not be a standard situation the Slovak side as the host of the event will be interested in continuing dialogue also with the new Hungarian top representative. Slovakia convened the summit at the time when Pal Schmitt was still in office as the Hungarian president.

V4 presidents are meeting again in Slovakia after four years. Czech President Vaclav Klaus and Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski have already accepted their invitations.
