ZVOLEN, October 15, (WEBNOVINY)- The current government should not lead the country until early elections on March 10 but the best solution would be a caretaker cabinet, thinks the chairman of the opposition parliamentary SNS Jan Slota. The SNS leadership sat on Saturday over the political situation in the country and a petition demanding a referendum for Slovak as the country’s sole official language. The SNS leader said that for such cabinet one-point program statement would be enough. Its only commitment would be to lead the country to early parliamentary elections.

The SNS leadership has adopted a resolution as well urging the interim representation of Slovakia to strictly dismiss efforts of euro-bureaucrats in Brussels to cancel the individual countries‘ right of veto in voting. “The upcoming elections will decide on whether the Slovak Republic will preserve its sovereignty, whether each Slovak will feel at home here and whether the future government will work to the benefit of Slovaks or support foreign economic interests,“ reads the document.

The SNS also dealt with a petition for a referendum on enacting Slovak as the only language of official communication. The SNS has collected almost 250,000 signatures to date. Slota believes that they will be successful in gathering the necessary 350,000 signatures by the end of the year when they plan to deliver the petition to the president. Slota thinks that in this case the referendum might be merged with the March early elections.

The SNS will not support efforts of the SaS party to contest the repeated bailout vote in parliament at the Constitutional Court. Its leader Slota did not miss a chance to attack once again Police president Jaroslav Spisiak calling him a botch who has demolished the police corps. He even said he does not believe that such “oaf” should continue ruining lives of normal policemen for further four months.
