Slovakia’s dominant electricity producer Slovenske Elektrarne cooperated with the authorities in criminal proceedings on disclosing fraudulent activities committed by one of the managers of Slovenske Elektrarne who was detained by the Police during the raid at Mochovce nuclear power plant on Wednesday. “The raid at the Mochovce NPP site was a result of the intensive cooperation. It shows the functionality of company’s internal controlling mechanisms,“ a spokeswoman for Slovenske Elektrarne Miroslav Sarissky informed the portal vEnergetike.sk. With immediate effect, the company’s management banned the arrested manager from entering the power plant. “We respect the presumption of innocence, but the employee who is responsible for the administration of the construction site and related services must also meet the condition of reliability. As a result, we have decided to ban him from entering the power plant with immediate effect,“ Sarissky said, adding that Slovenske Elektrarne will also make a decision in the labor law area based on the further investigation.
